A brick is the same size as the block 7-5/8 if you lay the brick as a sailer (on edge to hide holes) so it should line up perfectly...(Answered by home improvement at its best)

remove the hinges from the gate and drive a dowel into the hole where the screws were with a hammer. If you have to you can drill out the screw hole then drive in the dowel. re-align the gate and put the hinge screws back in in the new location where the dowels are...(Answered by aussie)

Drill press and carbide bit with oil. If you don't have acess to a drill press, take the pipe to your local hardware store, they will drill it for you rather cheaply....(Answered by BearDown)

If you are have patience you can try it yourself. Look at the door, is the spacing around the door even? If the gap at the top is more narrow, the lower hinge need to be spaced away from the jamb and vise versa. It now gets more complex........ alignment of the hinge plate (nearer the pin or away from the pin) will control the door if it "drags" on the jamb when it opens or closes. Trial and error for a first timer. Quick fix for an experienced carpenter. Good Luck...(Answered by Doubting Thomas)
