It depends on wheter the flower buds had stated to break or not. Last year here in North central Ok. we had a late freeze which killed all of my apple buds. Different vatieties bloom at different times which is why certain one arew more common in different areas. If you read the descriptions in the nursery catalogs they usually give information as to which ones bloom later to avoid a late freeze. I have Gala and Prarie Spy. The Gala budded too early so I had no pollinator for my Prarie Spy....(Answered by Charles C)

You're just going to have to be careful picking them up. You can get a long-handled fruit picker, and use that instead of your hands. You can use gloves. You can pick them up after dark, when the bees have gone to sleep....(Answered by Dave)

I would have a tree specialist come to see if it needs to be ferilized just like you would your grass and it may also may need to be trimmed of old dead branches and some new ones that may be in the way of existing branches....(Answered by Gabe)

Naa, wash them off before you eat em, and if you keep em in a cool place you won't have fruit flies, and if you do then theres a bad one, fruit flies only gather around warm and/or bad fruit....(Answered by Jae)

How many years for a Golden delicious apple tree to produce apples?
My tree is about 6-10 feet tall, planted about 2 years ago bought from a nursery as a 3-4 foot stick. Last year it really seemed to take off. Generally speaking, after 3 years. A lot depends on your soil type, altitude, temperatures, ground drainage etc. If you have deer problems, like I do, place a wire cage around the tree to keep them from eating soft bark and making rubs when they're in velvet....(Answered by dooner george)

Hold a fruit in your hand and give it a slight twist clockwise ( or anti-clockwise ). If it comes away from the tree easily it is ripe. Bit early in the year just yet though....(Answered by bob_e_dawg)

The moths that lay the eggs that hatch into worms, actually lay their eggs on the blossom. when the blossom turns into an apple the eggs are already inside the apple center. this is why it is difficult to tell if a apple has a worm inside from simply looking at the outside. It is also the reason why you spray apples before the buds bloom in order to control worms in apples....(Answered by gary o)

I sell satsumas and Louisiana Sweet Oranges, in season. I have sold to big chain groceries, small stores, etc: I have found the very best way is to sell to those individuals with road side stands in my area.
