I'm not sure about the web, but you probably have a Michael's or Joanne's Fabric near you. They have the ceramic houses and if you can get a coupon from a flyer they usually send out plus not having to pay for shipping, you're probably better off. I haven't done the ceramics but I've gotten the wooden houses and painted them before. You could also look at the clearance counter....(Answered by honey)

I bought these really cheap ceramic mugs and plates. After using them for quite some time I noticed the writing on the bottom “not dishwasher/microwave safe”. What you need to look for is the "foot" on the bottom. If it is shiny then it is glazed and should not be a problem. My guess is that the foot is not glazed so it will feel rough and unfinished. In that case, you need to be careful not to let the dishes soak in water. The unfinished foot will absorb water and when you heat the plate (in the micro or dw dryer) the water molecules move around and can crack the glazed surface. As long as you don't leave them soaking ...(Answered by kit kat)

Smooth, rounded bottom pots and pans. They shouldn't scratch the surface. Don't get a knife to the surface for hard to clean places. Place a warm, soapy, wet washcloth over the hard to clean areas. You could probably use an SOS pad, also. Keep it clean and it will last....(Answered by Lily)

I have all porcelain ceramic tiles throughout the house. Can they get scratched with furniture??
I have all porcelain ceramic tiles throughout the house. Can they get scratched with chairs / beds and other furnitures sitting directly on top of the porcealin ceramic tiles? A.
porcelain does scratch. I don't know that anything that says it's toughness will keep it from scratching altogether. There are things you can buy to put on the bottom of your furniture, dressers, tables, etc. that is like soft rug on the bottom, slides easily, and doesn't scratch when you move things. I suspect you and your visitors will be wearing socks to walk on this flooring so keep a mat at the door for shoes.....(Answered by sophieb)
