Q.
...Chores?
I'm doing chores for my mom in exchange for money 'cause I'm saving for school clothes, shoes, etc. Does anyone have ideas of what I could do? I've already: Cleaned the blinds Cleaned the baseboards Swept the tile floors Vacuumed the carpets Washed the cars Dusted the house Washed the windows And my normal chores of loading/unloading the dishwasher and washer and dryer. I seriously can't think of anything else to do and I've got about a week to get the money. I don't need much more, just a bit. Again, any ideas? ... (Asked by THAT is How I Disappear)

Any yard work needing to be done? Cook dinner and do the dishes after wards (I would LOVE it if someone did that for me). Clean out the garage if you have one or organize any junk drawers. You could clean the oven or microwave or alphabetize the DVDs & CDs. Also you can do the laundry or clean up after any pets if you have any of those. Hope that list helps. I will try to think of some more....(Answered by Miya Miya)

OH wow! I'd want it all done at a very cheap price. Can you blame me? lol seriously I hate dishes and mopping the floors. My two year old won't allow me to get either done without having to put the same dish in the washer 5 times only to turn around and notice all the little footprints dried onto my freshly mopped floor. I'd be willing to pay say 15 a week for dishes (we use very few dishes in this house usually takes a day and a half or two to fill the dishwasher once) and probably another ...(Answered by Raven's tear)

Clean around the edges of the base boards, clean the lamp fixtures and obviously the mirrors and floors and tubs in the bathrooms any ceiling fans, windows, picture frames and glass and make all your nick knacks shine....people love to look at those. Also dust lamp shades lamps and wipe finger prints off the doorway moldings. Remember you only need to really clean as high as the tallest person you are expecting....IE top of fridge needs wiping if your guest is taller than it, otherwise don't worry about it. Stand at your front door and look into your house, ...(Answered by Crazy Woman Driver)

Q.
How can I get more time to get caught up with my household chores?
I am a single mother w/2 daughters, 15 & 21. I work part-time as secretary at church, and full-time job graphic design. I also volunteer with the American Legion, local library board. I just cannot seem to find the time to get caught up with my chores at home (such as spring cleaning - it came and went). I need a month of vacation I think to get my house in order the way I want. But I don't have that much vacation to use. I would like some "my time" to relax and read and enjoy myself, but I'm ... (Asked by Carolyn B)

Maybe you can cut back on your volunteer hours. Soon YOU'LL be the one who needs volunteers!! Make a list of all the things you need to do...write each on a piece of paper, and put pieces in a jar. Set aside an hour or two a week for each of you, girls included. Then each of you pull out a piece of paper and do the chore. Then the one who does the chore the best (speed and accuracy counts) gets to buy themselves a treat...maybe a $10 item or so, whatever you can afford. For larger chores, you ...(Answered by renie51)

What are the chores involved in maintaining a garden ?
What do you have to do when you're taking care of a garden ? Once you've done the plowing, laying out your rows, and the planting, what do you do to maintain your garden ? I can think of weeding, checking for pests, fertilizing, and harvesting . I'd expect a sprinkler does most of the watering . Did I leave ... (Asked by mike_mcallister37)

Id say thats pretty much it. With the following exception: When you plant the seeds you usually plant more than one in each little hole. Its usually safer to plant more than one at a time because you never know which one is going to be a "dud" seed. After they have started to grow a bit, you weed out the unhealthier plants of each bunch. Also, you may want to becareful of overcrowding. Sometimes once the plants start to grow they start to invade the other plants space. Survival of the fitest, one will ...(Answered by obsolete_allurement)

as long as you stay up on the weeding and watering , harvesting is all that's left. check for pests IE: mice, slugs, ants.every week. Every spring you turn the soil, maybe add some old cow poo to enrich the soil. make rows and plant. each species of plant takes different care. spring is the hardest part of the job but worth it in every way....(Answered by mrsmooseman3)

Housewives, what is your average day of household chores?
Hello ladies, (or househusbands, lets not discriminate) I am a new stay at home mother. But now that my baby is here and she is almost 4 months, I'm thinking about it alot. Q.
Would you say hugs and chores are the way to make a child hardworking?
What makes a child and teen hardworking? Is it unconditional love shown to him/her and also chores and high expectations for good grades and good job on homework? From my observation of one family, that seems to be key. However, in this family the children scored low on a standardized test that most others in the class did well on, and the high scorers (just about everybody) was published in the paper. The family reacted by having the kids work really hard for a year, and I think it was their love for their parents that made them work hard ... (Asked by Roberta S)

Children need to have chores starting at a very young age. They also need to get some type of reward for doing those chores. Now about that published report and the kids working hard, I'm wondering why they did not work hard before. I agree that they feel that they are now afraid to fail. The fact is that everyone fails at something. Parents are much more forgiving than others, but we all have a pretty short memory. Something like that event could have quite an impact on a child, but if the ...(Answered by noonecanne)
