Why do critters that get in the house run directly toward you?
Why is it that when you're in a house or apt., no matter who's place it is, and a varmint gets in whether rodent, insect, fly, bird, whatever, it heads straight toward you. I have some "critters" in my house, I believe they are "shrews". How do I get rid of them?
I don't believe they are mice, as they have a longer nose and shorter tail. They are dark in color. I have several traps set with peanut butter. I caught one the first day, but since then--nothing--- and I have seen one scampering around. I have a cat, but he's 17 years old and I think would rather sleep. I have also heard cats are wary of shrews because of the shrews "fighting" ability. Help!!! I hate those things. I have checked online, but it seems that the traps are the ... (Asked by ruth k)

Peanut butter is one of the best baits you can use. But I just had a sneaky mouse that managed to lick off the peanut butter without setting off the trap. A.
Rats and mice, definitely (although I prefer to do some chemical tricks to chase them out before it comes to that - bobcat urine from a hunting store is usually all it takes). Not much else I'd kill unless I absolutely had to, but I'd certainly find a way to remove them so that human AND animal could be safe. I like having bats around; they eat LOTS of insects. I have a couple of squirrels, chipmunks, and raccoons that eat the birdseed I keep out, and as long as they don't bother anything else, they're welcome ...(Answered by Trish JPA and Jewish Pastafarian)
