Pre treat with a paste of powder laundry detergent and water or put some liquid laundry detergent on it and rub it in. Launder as usual and check it well. Repeat if necessary and avoid the dryer if a second treatment is necessary. Heat can set stains.Good luck. Another tip would be to use oxy clean along with your regular detergent. You can also try pre treaters like Shout. Just repeat if needed and avoid the dryer until the stain is gone. Good luck Dirt usually comes out fairly easy even if it is baked on....(Answered by firestarter) |

You might try several denture cleasing tablets..those used for cleaning false teeth. Leave over night ..then rub toilet with pumice stone from paint or hardware store. Another remedy for this is remove water from toilet and mix sodium perforobate and cream of tarter to make a paste. Put on stained bowl and leave a few hours..this is good for stained porcelain tubs, too.Sodium perforbate is used in tooth paste so you might try that whitening tooth paste....(Answered by genecyn) |

how to clean a shower with ground in dirt?
I am wondering how to clean a shower that has major dirt and ground in dirt throughout. My elderly father has been using a "cleaner" in his home with some kind of wax or rubber or something that has absolutely made cleaning impossible. The dirt and hard water stains are absolutely ground in and do not come off with the household sprays I used. I went to try to help him clean up the place, and found this disaster. Clorox disinfecting wipes, Windex, and CLR did not work. There has to be something better to strip that ... (Asked by smithill123) |
