Q.
Water Dispenser on Fridge quit working..?
I have a GE side by side fridge with a water and ice dispenser in the door. Today, for no apparent reason, the water dispenser quit working. All the fittings seem fine. The water to the fridge is turned on. I removed the water filter and tried the water dispenser and water wasn't even coming out of where the filter is (actually, it sometimes came out a drop at a time). It sounds like the pump is trying to pump water through. My wife said she turned the freezer colder (6 out of 10, was at 5 out of 10). Other ... (Asked by Slider728)

It sounds like the line is clogged. The refrigerator water lines are often white or clear. Pull out the refrigerator and see if you can determine if something is lodged in the line. If a determination can not be made, turn off the water (at the wall), take the water line off, and take it to a local hardware store. Someone there might be able to help you. Good luck....(Answered by steinmancloud9)

These systems are open to the atmosphere all the time. When you open the tap, it actually forces the water down to the hot tank, which forces hot water to come up to the faucet (check it out, there are 3 or 4 hoses going to the faucet). The spurting is from the water expanding when it is heated. If it was not able to expand out the faucet, the hot water tank might explode, so this is a safety measure. Turning the temp. down may help alleviate the problem....(Answered by griffinpilot1965)

Q.
Why won't the water dispenser stop leaking from the filter housing on my frigidaire refrigerator?
I've finally fixed the water pressure problem by replacing the self tapping valve with a normal valve, but water still leaks from the filter housing when the dispenser is activated. So basically anytime I fill a glass with water or water is periodically filled into the ice dispenser, a good bit leaks from the side of the filter into the fridge. I couldn't possibly put any more teflon tape on it and the seal seems tight. What's wrong? Its a Pure Source brand filtration system. ... (Asked by nipsy3)

If the seal is in good shape the plastic filter housing is most likely cracked. Shut off your water, take the filter housing off and hold it up to a light. You may find it has a small crack in it. You can also fill it with water and wipe it dry on the sides and look for water seeping out the sides....(Answered by fixitall)

think there is common problem with these, check the water pressure before it goes into the fridge etc, sometimes you may have to turn the pressure up a little, where your shut off is(normally under sink etc) make sure its fully open,im sure theres a micro filter inside the fridge freezer, have a look at the owners handbook, may give you some direction, hope this helps...(Answered by nigel the builder)

Q.
Kitchen hot water dispenser -- how fast should the water flow?
We have an Insinkerator instant hot water dispenser in our kitchen, and it flows at a rate of about one ounce per second, even slower than the earlier model we had. If you have a hot water dispenser, is yours that slow? I have checked all the tubes -- none of them are kinked or clogged. And the water pressure from the supply is fine. Thanks, ApplianceGuy. We don't have a saddle valve -- it was plumbed in conventionally during a remodel. Robert, the outlet tube is 3/8". The inlet tube is 1/4, and it's allowing the water to flow twice as ...
