How can I dissolve glue from wood?
I just bought a bamboo flatware tray with compartments and such. I really just need a piece of it. How can I dissolve the glue so I can break it into pieces?

It depends on what kind of glue was used. If they used the most common non-waterproof white glue (which looks clear when dry), it should give way to water after soaking for a while. Mix a small amount of hand dishwashing liquid soap (not the caustic nasty stuff used in dishwashers!) in the water to make it wetter.
It will tend to cause wooden parts to swell, so be sure and test the process on a small area that's hopefully not visible, in case it doesn't work....(Answered by HyperDog) |
