Q.
I put sealer on my driveway and stone retaining wall and now the drives color looks uneven-how do I fix it?
I applied an acrylic clearseal 300 product by tamms that has dried uneven on my walks and drive.I called the manufacturer and was told to apply a second coat but it might likely yellow. They said I was sold the wrong product by the supplier for outside use.The uv rating is a "b-c" and they recomend an "a" uv rating. The supplier told me the specs say it is ok for outside. They said they would get back to me after looking into it further. The manufacturers rep said I could use an "a" uv rated product of theirs on top of the ... I think the best you could possiblyhope for is to get the second sealer for free. Most of the suppliers aren't willing nor can afford to give any more compensation, you may have more look with the rep - The best solution would be sand blast the wrong sealer off and start again - expensive and messy. There may be a solvent that would cut through the sealer that is down and then apply the new - my 2 cents......(Answered by cvorse_04)

What is the best roller to use for applying texture paint to walls?
I was told to use a 3/8" nap roller but I am finding that the paint (which is very thick) is not going on evenly. It is leaving bare spots. I am using a 9 inch roller but maybe a shorter roller would be better. Your thoughts? ... (Asked by dlpictks)

A.
Use a thicker nap roller, like 3/4" or 1". The paint will go on heavy where ever you start the roller so apply it thick about 1 rollers lenght away and work the paint back towards your last roll. You will have to work the paint abit with the roller to get it even. Just take your time and it will turn out fine....(Answered by Teetyme)

A.
NO, no; your paint supply house (or Ace or the dreaded Home Depot) will have long-nap rollers just for this. They'll tell you how to do it, too. I think you put the paint on a little thinner, but I'm not sure. Anyway, the long-nap roller is the key to the whole deal....(Answered by gabluesmanxlt)

You can find them at http://www.mosaictile.com and range in price from $3.00 to as much as $150.00 per square foot. They also sell the individual tiles to mix and match or make up your own design or pattern. There are 225 tiles to a sheet of tile (roughly 1.15 square feet). I have slipcovers that are denim and children too, so I can relate. If the covers of everything are washable- just try some Rit dye. The liquid is more expensive but better than the powder. My view here would be "What the hell!" If it looks bad now, if the dye job doesn't look right to you, you'll get a slipcover anyway. Might as well try a few dollars on dye first. Good luck! Edited to add- they make slipcovers now that have a separate one for the cushions. I would go with that option if you ...(Answered by Simply_Renee)

Staining cabinets...HELP!!?
I started staining a few of my kitchen cabinets, which are oak. I sanded everything down to the grain and am staining with cherry stain with the poly already in it. The guy at lowes said nothing about a wood conditioner, but my cabinets are not staining evenly, no matter how much I sand. I am using a brush and not wiping it off. Am I suppose to just wipe it on and then let it dry, then lightly buff and start again? HELP! I meant by saying to the grain, I sanded down all the prior Polyurethane that was on ... A.
it sounds to me like you have not gotten all of the old finish off them. Unless you can remove all of the old polyurethane the new stain will not penetrate into the wood, which is what stain does. This would cause an uneven color pattern. I've used poly-shades brand on oak cabinets before but they had never been finished. I put it on with a lint free rag let it dry then sanded it with 000 steel wool. Wiped it with a tack cloth, put another coat on and they turned out just fine. Trying ...(Answered by Brian M)

The arrangement of the coals may not be your problem. Check on the burner and see if the outlet holes are clear in the center or if it was installed right....(Answered by egotist61)
