Q.
Where, in Stockport or Manchester, can I buy privacy blinds for a door?
My living room has glazed doors and this Christmas it will have to serve as a bedroom so I want to fit discrete blinds to the doors to give the occupant some privacy. I want the blinds to be as invisible as possible when closed (i.e. no flapping pull-cords). Alternatively blinds that are very easy to remove and don't leave a mess when you do so. I'm thinking that roller-blinds where you pull the bottom of the blind or concertina blinds would be good. I would also like them to be available in off-white fabric. ... (Asked by Quorlia)

Where can I buy a movie light?
I would like a tripod floor lamp looking like a movie light (large, round, black/chrome, with 'flaps') for my new home. Does anyone know where I can get one? I've been looking all over the place for something of the kind, but can't find one. I live in the UK, so will either need to buy one here or be able to have it shipped here. Would be most grateful for an answer. Thanks! ... (Asked by M T)

Andy H Why the wall? Install in a door. Here in the States the door pet flap is very common. I don't know of anyone or any pet store that installs or sells other than door pet doors. The most difficult aspect of installing in a door is the weight of the door. Exterior doors are usually quite heavy and installing a pet door in one requires the removal of the door. Regardless of how heavy the door might be, putting a hole in one is certainly easier than punching through a brick wall. ...(Answered by Dustoff)

Quilt! Help!?
About a year ago, I was leafing through a Pottery Barn Magazine. I saw a beautiful quilt, but, since I had just remodeled my bedroom, I dismissed it as a beautiful, but unnecessary item. Well, I am redesigning my bedroom again, and would like to use that quilt. The problem is, it is discontinued, and I cannot remember it's name. Its an island themed quilt, (not Pottery Barn kids) its like vintage hawaii themed, with palm trees, hawaii flowers. its colors include reds, pea greens, aquamarines, camel/tans, and vanilla like colors. It's stitched with squares, but inside the sqaures are ... (Asked by hhauder)

I am in kinda the same boat. I want to redecorate my bedroom and can't find the "right" quilt. I have run across several quilts and quilt sellers on ebay. Outlet stores that sell quilts from diff. places such as Pottery Barn and others. It's worth checking into. I ran across a store online called Carolina Quilt Co. They have beautiful quilts and very reasonably priced. Best of all FREE SHIPPING....(Answered by dawn42211)

A.
I prefer the more tailored look of the buttoned-down flap in a contrasting, but complimentary color with large decorative buttons. When making the bed, place the button side down at the top so when you turn it back with the top sheet, it creates a finished look. You can also make custom shams using the same concept. I turn mine inside out to clean so as not to catch the buttons on anything. Good luck with yours!...(Answered by blueyes)

my boyfriend's friend is a glzier and has taken the job of fitting our cat flap into our patio doors as would do it cheaper for us. however its now been over 3 weeks and it still not done and the price has risen from apprx £100 - £110 to £170 apparently its because the glass is thicker than usual and they have had to call in specialists, im just wondering if it would of been just as expensive if we'd called in professionals but could of had it done 2 weeks ago! can anyone help?? ... A.
From what I know, it is a tricky job, and at my house the glass is indeed much thicker. I can't say that it would be that much more, it would depend on the specialist that you called, and how good they are. Once I had to have the back half of my mum's roof replaced. Dad had died just before, and though young, I was stuck with it. I hired a bloke who lived in my street a few houses down. Yes, he was cheap, and and handy, and ultimately did a good job. However, I had to go ...(Answered by Charles)

cat flap in UPVC conservatory?
Anyone know how much it is to get a replacement UPVC pane with a cat flap fitted into a conservatory door? A.
I take it your mean the sealed unit and not a plastic panel, you will need to get the sealed unit remade, as because it's in a door it will be either toughened or laminate and you can't cut that else it'll break, your need to get someone to come in and measure it for you, if your capable of doing it youself then just measure it and take the cat flap along to the glaziers and they will make you a sealed unit and fit the flap at the same time, most glaziers will do this job for ...(Answered by terry h)
