How to get rid of hornets nesting in a baby gate :(?
We bought a baby gate(Superyard) on craigslist and after setting it up inside we noticed some hornets or wasps coming out of it. I think they were nesting inside it. We put it out in the garage and havent seen anymore hornets come out but I read somewhere that they can 'hybernate'. I want to sell the gate but dont want to sell it if it has hornets still living in it. What is a way to make sure they are all dead without using any poisons (since the gate is used for kids)?

Can you flush that part of the gate out with water from the garden hose? Put the hose up to where the hornets entered and exited, turn the water on, and let it run for a few minutes. You should hopefully either drown them, or flush them out....(Answered by Ralfcoder) |

Technically U can't prevent access.
But U can take them aside & explain UR concerns about this alleyway.
Security needs 2 B done & obstructing U means they have no idea of the country we're living in.
Grab UR local Paper find a story that highlights UR concern & hope they can B reasonable.
Or consult UR nearest Citizens' Advice Bureau & ask them what U should do....(Answered by NutstersChick) |

Will my gate intercom work with my cell phone?
I live in a gated community that has an intercom system at the gate. People dial your code, it calls your house and when you answer you can press a number to open the gate for cars, or a different number to open the regular door.
When I first moved in the management asked to have my home number so they could program it into the intercom system. Now I really want to get rid of my land line and just have a cell phone. Will the intercom work with my cell? Could they program my cell ... (Asked by I Dunno) |

The system will probably work with your cell phone, but getting management to let you is a problem. If there's nothing in the "rules & reg's" for your complex, I think they have to at least try it to see if it will work. Other options would be that when visitors call you, you go let them in yourself, or if you have a good friend/neighbor that can buzz people in for you - those really aren't very convenient for anybody though. I think I would work on the management - I agree with you that you ...(Answered by Dara Dara) |

Where can I find an accorion-style safety gate?
When I was a little girl, my parents had a gate that blocked me and my little sister from getting into the laundry room. The gate was mounted to the wall on one side of the doorway, and it opend/closed by expanding/contracting like an accordion. It was a wooden gate, and when open, the gate had diamond-shaped "holes" in it.
I've tried searching for accorion gates online, and all I come up with are sites talking about how they're dangerous for children and shouldn't be used any more. Well, I don't HAVE any children, so that doesn't matter ... (Asked by purplekitten1979) |

These gates were popular back in the 50's and 60's. I guess if you were to find one now it would be considered an antique. I haven't seen them for sale anywhere for quite a long time. They now have the up dated more fancy ones for sale. You might find one at a garage sale or a flea market....(Answered by bugear001) |
