What does it mean when your water is running a green color?
Our tap water is coming out this darkish green color - realized this attempting to give my puppy a bath after she got in the litter box (she likes to eat & roll in cat poop for some reason). =(
My fiancee is in the process of contacting our maintenance (we live in an apartment, yes)... but I am just wondering if anyone has an idea of what this means? I know he'll take forever to call me back, lol... it is just how he is.
So, help! Hehe.
Thanks everyone.

How do I stop the water in my pond from turning green?
During the summer the water in my pond became very murky and green. The pond is 8x6 feet. and I have about 20 goldfish in there. I emptied and refilled the pond but it quickly went green again. Can anyone tell me what to do. I used to have water lillies on the pond but I took them out as they were badly overgrown.

algae grows and thrives in water that gets lots of sun. by removing your water lilies you have exposed more of the water surface to the sun and thus encouraging more algae to grow.
Tho this will not harm gold fish, if you have Koi the algae will compete with them for any available oxygen in the water.
You can purchase an algaecide specifically for ponds with fish - will not harm the fish - that is very effective.
BTW: Never empty and refill the pond as - you are removing beneficial bacteria etc that will have to rebuild again in the ...(Answered by Barbados Chick) |
