How can you find who is the builder of a specific piece of property? Should you talk to him, without Realtors?
I want to talk to the builder to ask about unauthorized changes in the construction of my new house and also to see if I can get a finishing date since I was supposed to move into my new (still unfinished) home October 1,2005. I don't have any idea what the time line is. I am handicapped and need to have movers in place, a truck driver, notify my storage of intent to vacate, change my residence for deliveries and mail. The Government funding may be just the ticket to getting things done for you. This is a perfect situation in which you want to contact your State Senators office - explain your situation and don't be shy in asking for their help in getting you the information that you need.
You won't believe how fast somebody from the Builder will get back to you - once the Senators office has made the necessary inquiries.
Try it - you'll be glad you did!...(Answered by sandiegoman4life) |

My handicapped brother lives with my elderly mother.?
When she dies I want him to continue to live in her house. He and I will inherit the house when she dies. Her estate is very small. I want to protect him from taxes. Should I buy the house now, have her will the house only to me, keep things the way they are, other suggestions?

Leave things the way they are, with one or both of you inheriting the house - that way if you ever sell it, your basis will be it's value as of when your mother dies - if she gives it to you now, your basis would be what she paid for it, plus any improvements. It might be simpler if she wills it just to you rather than joint ownership, but that depends on what your brother's handicap is - might not matter, if he's capable mentally of managing his own affairs.
She won't owe any estate taxes ...(Answered by Judy) |
