how do you get the haze off slate after you grout?

Hopefully you're still able to just use a sponge and water. When the slate was being grouted, the process is to mash the grout between the pieces of slate so it gets down into the grooves well, and then wipe it diagonally with a damp sponge, rinse the sponge and repeat wiping and rinsing until there is no noticeable residue left on the tile. Of course, there really is just a little bit left after it all dries, but this little bit can be wiped away with a damp sponge....(Answered by ●Gardener●)

If the film is on the surface, I would not attempt to scrape it off. I agree that you would likely scratch the surface. Try vinegar and newspaper as well as other commercially available glass cleaners. The "film" could be oxidation of the reflective material on the back of the mirror. If that is the case, you have two choices. One is to live with the "film" and view it (no pun intended) as a sign of age. The other option is to have a glass shop "resilver" the mirror. You should ask the Landlord how he wants you to clean it and what he prefers you use. That way you won't be responsible if you use something that causes damage to the floors....(Answered by Green_Eyed_Froggy)
