Incandescent bulbs provide a very good spectrum of light but produce too much heat and cost too much to operate to be practical. Compact fluorescent lights or CFL's are the new kid on the block and come in many spectral "flavors". I've had very good success using 2 different flavored bulbs. Use one 15 watt daylight (bluish) and one 15 watt standard (yellowish) CFL 2-4" from young seedlings or 1-1.5 ft. from houseplants with low to medium light requirements. RScott...(Answered by RScott)
