Q.
Are there any egg dyeing kits that wont stain my daughters hands and clothes?
My daughter is 2 1/2 and I would like to dye Easter eggs with her but I'm worried about her hands and clothes being stained. Does anyone know of any egg dyeing kits that wont stain? or is there any way to make the dye less satinable? Someone told me that mixing the dye with water or lemon juice, rather then vinegar might work. Anyone have any insight on this method? ... (Asked by twyant7)

Put your daughter in some old clothes and let her have some fun. She will not mind getting her hands dyed and it will ware off with time. Do it in the basement, garage or outside. The kits you buy are safe to use. Have fun and get your hands colored too....(Answered by Carl)

If you want to know if you have mold, the answer is yes. Everyone does. It's ubiquitous. We went through a 'mold' problem at a condominium, and all the research we did revealed that there is no known toxic mold. You can check the EPA site - no one knows for sure that there's any mold that's harmful. Mold is the scam of the current decade....(Answered by Steve G)

I am a really good gardener, and have at least 50 houseplants, but I had no luck with the herb garden contraption. . . I think the seeds weren't very good, but I took the pots with the holder, and have different cacti growing in them and it looks awesome :) Well worth the money just for the display IMO. . . Q.
If I am making potted plant kits for people, can I put the soil and flower seeds together in a zip lock bag?
These are small terra cotta pots, and I plan to put the soil and seeds in zip lock bags and stick the bags inside the pots. Question is should I package the seeds separately or can they be mixed up with the soil in the same bag. We're talking just a few seeds here per each bag of soil b/c they are very small pots. This would be a much easier option than separate bags but I'm not sure if it's ok. Thanks. ... (Asked by valleyval)

Q.
I want to check my basement for toxic mold. Are the test kits reliable?
I've recently had water damage in my basement. I don't see any mold and there are no smells but as it's a furnished basement I'd like to make sure. I've seen test kits advertised but I was not sure if they are accurate or not. One site said that all test kits will give a positive reading for mold all the time. Is this true? I don't want to get a false alarm from an unreliable test. ... (Asked by Laura L)

No Avoid mold test kits. Based on our tests of four kits available at home centers and online, we don't recommend them. We found major flaws with each kit. First, none of the kits have expiration dates. That's problematic for kits that use petri dishes and growth media because old media could affect the reliability and accuracy of the test results. One of the kits was difficult to open and could become contaminated as you wrestled with the packaging. Others were simply a pain to use. Finally, three kits we tested made claims about detecting toxic mold, though none of their ...(Answered by Kia)

Check out the website 72hours.org for ideas. Good starter gifts could be flashlight, basic first aid kit for the GO BAG and even a good mulit-purpose tool. Freebies could be printed copies of what they need in a small binder, local maps are sometimes provided by the city or county and pamphlets on first aid training and cpr could be added. You could also do a list of local emergency numbers and radio staions and put that in a small binder. Pam...(Answered by purpleflyer2008)

There are lots of places where you can order them online. A Yahoo search for "ph testing kits" (include the quotation marks in the Yahoo search box) yields 560 results. Just the first page of 20 results offers several websites where you can order all kinds of different testing kits. I recently answered a similar Q, and I'll say the same to you. I live in FL and certainly there are KIT companies all over the country. I think if I was looking, I'd look first in WWW general search, browser, keywords, then focus on thos companies that offer shipping as well as possible sub crews, or links they have to sub crews, local to you. Construction costs in the South are a wee bit better than other places, such as California, but in a general sense you can expect to pay $100 to $300 per ...(Answered by DIY Doc)
