You can get a special tape made just for this purpose,at any home improvement store. Plus the special rubber antislip mats work good also. But you will have to roll the bent corners backwards to get them bact in place&most likely need to tape the corners anyways....(Answered by Dave)

Carpet last...no if and or buts... Lay out and install the 8 feet entrance and your 2.5 border. You'll then lay your tack strip and tuck the carpet down in between the tack strip and laminate flooring. Good Luck......(Answered by texasfixit)

Q.
Can a rubber gripper pad cause damage to a laminate floor?
When a rubber gripper pad is placed under an area rug to prevent slipping on a laminate floor is there any potential for damage? (There are some non-rubber products available , but they are rather expensive.) I am also eyeing area rugs that have materials added to the backing to make them non-slip and feeling suspicious of those also. I was not successful in finding much on-line information on this subject, but will welcome any links you suggest. Thank You. ... (Asked by VeeBee)

Yes they can. The rubber tends to darken the finish on the floor, if left for some time. And I'm guessing the area rug is meant to stay. You might want to invest in a non-rubber product, but only after you find out if it too can cause discoloration....(Answered by Jami)

The Laminates are made of MDF. Medium density fiberboard This is a health hazzard for your lungs when you cut it with a power saw. Drawbacks of MDF: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medium-density_fibreboard Heavier (the resins are heavy) Contains urea-formaldehyde which may cause eye and lung irritation when cutting and sanding The glue that binds the laminations is made with formaldehyde. This is a toxic chemicle when burned and inhaled Finally, any plastic layers (maybe the top surface) when burned, will produce cyanide gas. It's available in a variety of colors, or you can mix it to match the color of your countertop. There is a whole article on their website, as well as pictures and complete instructions: http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/hk_cabinet... The best time is when the room is empty. & when you can put up with what ever trouble it entails. If you can have it done on short notice the contractor may give you a good deal if he can wait to do it when it is easy for him. Other than that its when some one can find the time to do it, Have you tried to get some one from Home Depot?...(Answered by Floyd B)
