I have a poweder room that is 1/2 round... what wall treatment?
The exterior of the house looks like a chateau with round tourets and cream stone + limestone. The inside is transitional. I found two options... one is 2x4 stone tiles that look like rough stones which will give a "fun castle" feel. The other is a more contemporary wallcovering called bedazzled that can be seen at mayaromanoff.com. The sink is an alabaster bowl made of pearl tiles that will have an iron stand made for it. Thank you all! My interior designor just quit on me to work with a company :(

i would buy fabric that would look good in that room, then buy bottle starch to glue the fabric on with, just put the starch in a pan & dip the fabric in to soak, lightly press a small amount out then apply to the wall, use a sqeege to smothe out air bubbles.........let this dry, if it gets dirty or you want to change it just mist with a little water & peel off , hope this helps...(Answered by judy3107711) |

HELP!! Floor Coverings?
I am planning for a remodel of kitchen and dining room. I need help and expertise on different types of flooring. Anyone have any experience or comments on these types: ceramic tile, slate, travertine or limestone. Or any other that you might know of. I need it to be very resistant to the abuse from my pets and children. (And husband) Any comments would be great. Thanks.

OK slate, travertine, limestone all of these are natural stone they will scratch and stain if you don't maintain it right so if you want a floor that's going to hold up against husband's consider a good tile or any glazes porcelain there are some that look like natural stone good luck...(Answered by george e) |

Limestone Flooring Tile Questions?
I have some limestone tile manufactured in Mexico. It's neat looking stuff but seems very porous. I haven't installed it yet. I want to seal the tile with a satin varnish or polyurethane even prior to grouting. Is this cool? Is there a better sealer? Any other tips for working with this product?

If it is porous, I'd advise you to have your flooring installer "seal" the stone by doing one of two things...either fill the holes (pits) in the stone with grout (cheapest and easiest) or fill the pits with Akemi (best looking). Akemi is basically a material made of silicone and finely ground stone and shell particles that is used to fill pitted areas in porous stones like limestone and travertine.
If you go the grout route, be sure you match the color of the grout to one of the lighter portions of the stone so it doesn't look ...(Answered by Jennifer G) |
