i like family circle, ladies home journal, good housekeeping and martha stewart. lots of good ideas. remember, all magazines rely mostly on their advertisers for revenue, not subsriptions. take what you like and leave the rest. and by all means, if you're not happy with a purchase for any reason, return it, insisting on a full refund. if they want your business again in the future, they'll also send you an apology and sometimes even a coupon for future use....(Answered by susan l)

Martha Stewart Vs. Real Simple Magazine: Which is best? I am looking for a good magazine that will have recipes, organizing tips, and craft ideas. I subscribe to Glamour also, but am looking for more of a home magazine to get with Glamour. I subscribed to Real Simple but am not really sure if I like it. I prefer Real Simple. There are coupons and offers included as well as a page with tabs to mark items or articles. It is favorable environmentally, and I have referred back to many of the issues. Go to a bookstore like Barnes & Noble and look at what magazine they have available. Buy the one you like and use one of the coupons for a discount on the subscription. The mobile home parks around here all distribute a monthly called the Newsette that is personalized for each park. It is not something you can subscribe to, so I know it isn't what you are looking for, but I don't think there is any such animal. The Newsette, is not very interesting and is mostly advertisements anyway....(Answered by surelynotme)

It wasn't Cottage Living it was Country Living. The whole issue was devoted to their Home of the year. A modular home in Auburndale Florida. It was Old Florida looking with a tin roof etc. I liked that house so much that I tracked it down and saw it in person. Disappointment. Pursue Palm Harbor Modular Homes.--PS $500K asking price on the Country Living magazine home-silly--it was very much like a simple mobile home.But it looked great in the magazine--I enjoyed that issue so much....(Answered by jammer_3879)

Best thing to do if you receive a call like that is to ask the caller to send you information by mail. If it's a legitimate business, then they shouldn't balk at doing so. If they hassle you about it, then request to be put on their "do not call" list. It's strongly advised that you do NOT give out your credit card number to anyone who initiates a cold call to your phone number.
