Where is the best to put a radiator; under a window, near door etc?
I'm having a new heating system installed and want to maximise the heat and minimise the heat loss by putting the radiators in the best location. I live in a 3 bed terraced house. ... (Asked by GrayV2)

it doesn't really matter these days. Radiators generally go under windows for 2 reasons. They convect heat up and so reduce drafts ( not such a reaons with double glazing these days ) and the window wall is not so useful for pieces of furniture so the radiator would be best there, leaving the other 3 walls clear. I'm not convinced by either arguement, i think long curtains over a window do good, so you are stuck if you have a radiator under the window. any property developers or estate agents out there i need some advice?
i have recently done some expansion in my home (the kitchen), it was 12sqr meters, after knocking a couple of walls down and doing a bit of modification it is now 16 sqr meters and is a good size for a kitchen/diner (good shape as well )the walls i took out did not minimise the rest of the house space as they were an old coal house and pantry adjoined to the kitchen......i bought the house for £57,000 it is ex council (2 bedroom semi with a 35sqr meter back garden and plenty of parking space, also in a ... of course it is going to add value to the house, how much is determined on how well of a job done and also a rising market. You can get free valuations from any estate agency without any obligation to put it on the market. This might give you a more accurate value on your house presently without costing you a penny. I would say find a nice welcome-mat for the entrance. I know when I visit a new office these mats make me feel more at ease right off the bat. As far as plants go, I would just stick with some realistic-looking artificial plants, you never know who is going to be allergic to what and real plants pose a potential insect infestation problem. Plus they are very low-maintenance. In every working environment that I have been in, the biggest stress reducer was to have my own personal radio.
