marigolds also work well to keep mosquitos away. Have a few pots of them around the area where where you hang out, or plant rows of them along your walks, etc....(Answered by barbara m)

They don't like garlic. Even the smell of garlic will drive them out and it is not toxic to use. They also sell herbal bug sprays that work well at home improvement stores....(Answered by wowwhatwasthat)

Yes! I read about that in one of those silly chain letter e-mails, and I don't usually believe anything they say but I happened to have a box of dryer sheets so I said what the hell. I rubbed by arms and kept the sheet in my shirt pocket right before the memorial day picnic, and damned if I didn't get a single bits....(Answered by ratboy)

You can only attempt control, you cannot erradicate them. Outside,,,Bug zappers, no standing water, IE: barrels, buckets, pots. Lakes or wetlands??? MOVE! Inside: Screening, not leaving openings that allow access. DEET, OFF, etc. Sprays perhaps, but why??? Rev. Steven...(Answered by ever1wolf)

Put a small amount of some kind of oil (cooking oil, motor oil) in the water of the mould. The oil will float on top and kill all the mosquito larvae. We use this method in old tires waiting for trash pickup, and anything else that catches rainwater during the summer months....(Answered by barbkin11)

Try bug spray, or wear dark clothing... sometimes bugs are attracted to Carbon Dioxide, the chemical we breathe out and they sell machines that produce that chemical to lure mosquitoes out then trap and kill them!...(Answered by peachmonk)

I want to repell roaches, ants, silverfish and mosquitos without chemicals...what to use?
even if it's something that only works half the time, I would like to know about it...or maybe just a mild chemical. I have newborns at home and can't use anything that will be too strong or lingering. Well, the ants are seasonal around here. I dont leave food out so they wander around in the bathroom going in circles;mosquitos are seasonal too....as for the rest, i'm pretty sure they did come from another home ... (Asked by NeferTT)

Just buy one of those pest away plug ins at Wal-Mart or Target. They work great at keeping away bugs, rodents and all kinds of little creepy crawlies. They don't use chemicals, just plug it in and it works for about 1000 square feet. They are safe for larger animals but if you have hamsters or something along that line, it probably wouldn't be a good idea. It sends out a high-pitched frequency that the small rodents/bugs don't like and they just run away....(Answered by amandajfuller)
