Q.
How do I get rid of neighbors huge tree branches?
My neighbors have two hugh Oak trees which hang over into my backyard. The leaves, believe it or not have already started to fall, and every morning my pool is covered with them. How do I get rid of these branches. My neighbors are really great but they won't get rid of the trees. Come the fall I get over 80% of the leaves. It may sound crazy but I have no trees on my property (less than a 1/4 acre) but because of their trees I bag about 50 bags of leaves a year. I've thought about hiring someone but ... (Asked by S W)

You shouldn't assassinate your neighbor's tree. If the trees don't actually infringe on your property (roots under the structure, branches preventing access to all sides of your house), unfortunately for you, it is your responsibility to clean up the leaves on your property. If the trees hang over and drops leaves, this is a gray area that would best be resolved by you and your neighbor. You can hire a lawyer to investigate the real estate law, but that would be pricey and would cause bitterness between you guys. Find a peaceful agreement to deal with ...(Answered by Rich)

Ways to keep you neighbors from walking in your yard?
I have neighbors on the left and right of me, and these neighbors are friends. They cross our yard to get to each others house. My husband and I have asked them to not walk across our lawn as it has worn a path through it. They have not listened! We are getting ready to lay sod and want for our lawn to look really nice, but how can we keep our neighbors out of it so no more paths form? We have thought about fencing around our front yard, but thats a little more of an expense then we ... (Asked by dbd25305)

If you're gonna resod then put stakes and wire with small tie flags spaced every 12in. use stakes that stick up about 2 1/2 ft. and put ''NO TRESPASSING'' signs up and once you post the signs and they still walk through your yard, you now have a legal recourse. you could have them arrested. A private property sign works as well. good luck!...(Answered by The "Axeman" cometh)

We informed the owner and she just says that the dog annoys her and she wants to get rid of it but hasnt and still lets the dog roam free around the town. Keep a record book of all the times the dog has been loose. I would also suggest if you do not already own a video camera to buy one and tape the dog running loose. I wouldn't worry about making enemies, obviously the neighbor doesn't care what her dog is doing in your yard....(Answered by hyacinth_gardener)

Neighbors?
Any one here a law student or a property owner that has some insight into the laws concerning trees? If it were not for my neighbors tree, my yard would be clutter and crap free. He just rang my bell and complained about my pool this morning and I have never once complained about his tree raining sap and leaves and branches all over my yard. I assumed we had an understanding to each look the other way and compromise, but I guess not? 1. Can I legally cut down what hangs over my driveway? 2. Does ... (Asked by Go_Know_Thyself)

You don't need planning for a summer house, well what I mean is it depend on the size you are building. It have to be 5 metres away from your house. Under 4 metres high from the top to bottom of building. If you are not blocking the right of light to yours neighbours then they have no right to make problem for you. But it is nice to tell your neighbours what you are going to do. It is best to speak to local council and get a free Planning guide for householders booklet. Section B page ...(Answered by kelly c)

Who is responsible for tree damage to neighbors car?
I have a large dead tree in my backyard that has a couple of limbs hanging over the neighbors yard. I have been wanting to remove the tree but he has an old junk car (not tagged or insured) underneath the limbs. A month ago, I asked if he could move the car so I could cut the tree down. This sounds like a job for Judge Alex. (bad joke) Write down dates and times you spoke to your neighbor about the situation. Get names of any witnesses to you speaking to him about the situation. Does you neighborhood have a homeowners association, or are you in an unrestricted neighborhood? Most HOA's have rules about storing unoperatable vehicles on the property unless it's in the garage out of sight. Be upbeat and friendly to your neighbor, but dont let him try to suck money out of you for a vehicle he apparently has no money to fix or move anyway. ...(Answered by swsw1fu)
