Maytag Neptune 9700 washer?
I was washing the controls on my washer today and the ink which labels the controls started wiping off. I called Maytag and got disconnected 3x. I have sent them an email hoping for a reply. Has anyone ever ran into this with Maytag's?

I'm sorry to hear your having problems with Maytag. I have a washer and dryer from them. The washer has given me continuous problems. Not with the controls but with rusting of the lid after 1 year and the clothes not spinning. I like my dryer. But, at this point I doubt I'll ever buy another Maytag. I paid more for it because I thought it would be an exceptional product....(Answered by chipmunk) |

Front loaders are notorious for this problem, esp those wtihout a proper hole in the front door seal gasket to allow the water to drip out and down the drain.
You will probably want to call Maytag, esp if your machine is not brand-new, as they did have a class actions suit against them for this problem and some others. You may be covered, but you will have to talk to them about it. The new models do have a small drain hole in the front which can help, but it's still best to make a little effort with your machine ...(Answered by arvava) |

electrical Maytag Neptune washing?
This thing is the biggest piece of garbage ever! I had a feeling when we bought it I should stick with the simple standard washing machine with the dial, no..
I had to have the fancy electric doo dads....
This thing beeps like it's possesed, I had to unplug it, it would do whatever it wanted! I don't want to spend money to fix it because it seems like a lemon.
I was beating the hell out of the thing today, I still hear the beeping in my head!
My lord what a week!

Sounds as if you've got a lemon, or else you need to read the user manual more carefully. Try the later first before calling the dealer or manufacturer to try to get any satisfaction from that route. The first thing they say is, did you follow the user manual.
These are complicated machines with computer components which need care and feeding just like your computer does. They have a "brain" then that is programed to follow certain sequential paths to getting a job done. It will depend how you set the washer up for each load, using the touch pads and ...(Answered by Nightwriter21) |

maytag neptune washer jumps?
I bought a Neptune in July 2006. Have had 6 service calls from 1st wash because it "dances" across the room! No one seems to have an answer? Now I don't receive return calls from the repairman? They said without the pedestal it would be better. I only bought it because of the pedestal. It even vibrates spinning empty. But with laundry it hits the dryer or jumps into the wall. I have had to stand in front of the washer for every load since last July for fear that it will ... (Asked by Selmom) |

The two most common problems are a washer that is out of level or a load that is out of balance. I assume that the repairmen checked to make sure that the washer is level since it is the most common problem. That leaves the problem of the load being out of balance.
Are you careful to load the washer evenly? For instance, you wouldn't want wad up a bunch of blue jeans or bath towels on one side of the washer and small items like socks on the other. As the washer agitates the load, things ...(Answered by exbuilder) |
