I utilize wicker baskets, rubbermaid containers and laundry baskets in every room. They hold an amazing amount of stuff and they don't look too bad. I keep a large wicker basket on the kitchen table. It is filled with mostly paper - things I need to reply to, notes to myself of things I have to do. We have a wicker basket in the dining room where my husband sits to pay the bills. When the mail comes, I immediately put any bills to be paid in that basket for him to deal with. That's another thing - deal with ...(Answered by PDY) |

Organizing you child's bedroom?
My daughter's room is a wreck! If you have any tips on organizing it, or you know of any website that can give me more ideas, please tell me! (It would help if you would give me some ideas, too.) For one thing, her closet is a wreck, and she has big piles of clutter under her bed and in the corners of her room. I need help organizing. She tells me she would like her room a lot better if it was cleaner, but she never cleans it. She doesn't like it when I throw her things away, so ... (Asked by Lola13) |

A couple things:
- pick out some sort of toybox (plastic tub, fancy wooden box, anything will work) and only allow her to have as many toys in her room as will fit in the box; weed out any old or barely played with toys and donate them to the goodwill or throw them away; if there are toys you can't bear to part with, box them up and store them in the basement (if a year goes by and you still haven't done anything with them, seriously consider donating or throwing them away)
- follow the same philosophy for clothes ...(Answered by Laura) |

First of all, you are some kind of woman!
Everyone needs to pitch in. If a child can throw it down he can pick it up. My children were doing laundry at 6. As soon as they can reach, teach. Use baskets, barrels, boxes, etc. assigned to each child and they are responsible for getting their things in and out of it. Have different colored laundry baskets for whites, lights, darks and teach the children how to sort it as they bring it to the laundry room. Have the older ones load and ...(Answered by kksay) |

Organizing my house?
My boyfriend thinks is it is mostly just getting rid of stuff!!
I watch Mission Organization, read websites and books about organizing and understand the benefits. I also understand that it you can always replace stuff you get rid of....but boyfriend is not happy getting rid of stuff. He thinks those shows are bogus. An empty house looks neater than one with belongings in it, its a no-brainer.
How do I convince him otherwise?

take one room, organize it the best you can,. he will see the difference . a empty house is easier and faster to clean ...then if it goes good with your boy friend do another room , but do one at a time to show him the real difference....(Answered by StarShine Girl) |

~ How Can I Organize A ~?
How can I organize a small place?
I want my place to look VERY nice and I want it to feel more mature, How did you achieve this?
I go to older couple homes and they always look very nice and put together but every time I try to do the same thing it just looks cluttered.
Could it be that we have way too much stuff in a small place?
Is there ways to organize lots of stuff without having organizing bins everywhere? How do I determine what things I should keep and what things should just go into the garbage?

Start small and pick out one drawer or one box in one room. Clear a space in another room if you can and go through the contents of that drawer or box. Do one touch sort - once you touch it, you have to decide what to do with it. I like to follow a "Keep, Sell, Toss" philosphy: Items you keep, Items you sell, donate or give away, and items you throw out. Throw away anything past its expiration date and anything that is unfixable or cannot be cleaned or repaired. Get rid of duplicates and ...(Answered by Silver_Stars) |

Organizing vs collectable personality?
I am trying to organize the apartment I'm occupying while my house is built. It's too small! I am looking for any advise on how to organize a huge volume of things (books, clothes, shoes, luggage, mineral collections, fossil collections, scrapbooks, bedding, swimsuits, workout eqpt). I've invested in hundreds and hundreds of tubs, and a labelmaker, which I love, but how can I get through the next 6 mos?!? Is there anything I can store in the refrigerator? That's the only place where I still have room!! Help? All advise on anything (especially, how ... (Asked by Deborah H) |

I too am crammed in an apartment with my large family. First get your stuff in front of you, Put three piles together. Remeber first, it's just stuff and if you don't use it, you should lose it. Clutter doesn't help anyone.
1-Keep and Organize
2-Trash it
3-Donate it or Ebay it
Once you do this, you will be so surprised how much different it looks. Use the tubs you already to put your good keepers in a rental storage space until you settle in the new place. You can then donate or ebay for extra cash or yard sale ...(Answered by Bard's Babe) |
