Q.
What was the name of that painting in houses years ago?
There was this ugly painting/picture in everybodys house years ago in England. It was a portrait of an exotic looking black/asian woman, tinted a kind of green I think. She was wearing a turban or fruit based hat I think, but I was very young the last time I saw it. It was very cheap and tacky. It's killing me to know the name or a link to it! Please Help! ... Could I get rid of pantry moths by painting the cupboards in and out?
I got rid of all the food in bags and boxes yesterday. I have washed everything that was in the cupboards and the cupboards themselves. I haven't seen any worms today, but there are still a few moths. I know it might take a few weeks for all the moths/worms to die, if I continue to wash the cupboards daily. Can I paint the cupboards today inside and out to get rid of them instead of waiting a few weeks? Thanks. ... (Asked by Moth)

I would just use pantry moth traps - we had a problem with pantry moths from bird food, which we now keep in the freezer, which helps. The traps don't smell and they have really taken care of the problem. The traps are difficult to find though - I usually by mine on Ebay. Here's a link to the one that I used:...(Answered by Caroline H)

I have an above ground pool. Solar covers are a pain. Can I heat my pool by painting the outside of it black?

A.
It is possible that the pool temperature may raise a few degree's by doing this. You will also violate your pool warranty. A second option besides a solar cover, is a solar panel, which sets apart from your pool and you never have to move it to go for a swim. It hooks inline with your filter system and can ad 10-15 degrees of heat...(Answered by craigmn3)

Q.
When neighbors build fences, who's responsible for painting them?
Here's the history. Years ago our next-door neighbor built a fence around their yard -- all four sides. Then the people who owned our house at the time built a fence around their (our) yard, only fencing on three sides because they could hook onto the existing fence on the fourth side. Then we bought the house and moved in. Now, all the fences need to be painted. Who is responsible for painting what fence? Do we all just paint the parts that we (or the people who lived here before) built? Or do we each ... (Asked by Qwertius)

I think you and your neighbors should come to an agreement on the color, and then pull a Tom Sawyer and convince the neighborhood kids to paint ALL of the fence for you for free! Failing that, paint all the sides that face you. Don't make a big thing....(Answered by hquin_tset)

Do you use putty before painting the wall?
I heard that some people use putty before painting the wall in order to make it easier to paint the wall. They told me that to use putty makes the wall flat and look nicer and you are able to paint the wall easily. I would like to ask if it is common to use it? How to use? and where to buy? thanks! ... If it is a large area you want to smooth, putty will be too slow and hard to and. Go to your local hardware and ask for 'Top coat jointing compound' used for gyprock. It is pre mixed and sands very easily with an 80 grade large sanding block for a super smooth finish. Hope this helps....(Answered by CLOCKWORK)
