Q.
Refuse Collection: Is there a way to get rid of polystyrene?
I've bought a few items over the last couple of weeks that - as usual - come packaged in polystyrene beads, boards and those "potato" chip things. There is only a collection once per fortnight (14 days) and only one bin (trash-can to you ppl in the USA) so the only way to get around it is either to drive 5 miles to the "recycling center" (or "dump" as we called it in the old days) or fly-tip... I'm not keen on the first option because it's a 10 mile round trip every time and I'm not going to leave ... (Asked by Lord_Darkclaw)

I understand you are not in the United States. I know that polystyrene in the US is not manufactured with chlorofluorocarbons, but I'm not sure about your location. Shredding, burning, or melting polystyrene that contains chlorofluorocarbons can release harmful toxins into your air. A conservative answer: Can you store the packing materials until your rubbish pickup? (Thank you for not considering leaving on the roadside!) Some companies are beginning to use cornstarch packing materials. These will melt when they come into contact with water. Good for them!...(Answered by july)

Yes , I built a 2bd 1bath hunting cabin in MI that is 800 sq ft. I spent about $12000 for materials. Concrete block foundation is cheaper than the foam blocks that use poured concrete. This price did not include the well or septic or land.---Don't listen to the others who say you can't. It can be done if you do ALL the work. Wood frame construction tends to be the cheapest. You will have to use the basic cabinets, counters, and fixtures. The one big problem is that many areas don't allow small homes. If you need some tips ...(Answered by morris)

A.
Put it in a polythene bag. take a larger bag, and some polystyrene beads (like bean bag beads) mix the beads with pva adhesive, put a good layer of this mix in the polythene bag, place the statue in its bag inside the first bag, then fill with the remainder of the mixture. Allow to set..... This will give you a custom pack.... You could put the outer bag in a cardboard box, to gine you an easy shape for posting....(Answered by johncob)
