The color has to do with the ph level in the soil and the aluminum , it may be possible to change the color if it is in a container, otherwise is a little harder. And keep in mind that not all varieties change color. If it is pink and you want it a blue hydrangea, try aluminum sulfate around the hydrangeas. If it is blue and you want pink you should use dolomitic lime and a fertilizer with high levels of phosphorus....(Answered by gs@ok)

The below paragraph is an exerpt from the website listed below: "All you need to do is figure out where the little buggers are coming in at, and sprinkle a baby powder firewall. Wear a mask and gloves, use a small brush/pan combination: gently sweep the excess powder into the dust pan (basically drag the brush, but don't let it "kick up" at the end of the sweep, that would put the powder into the air) and then dump it into the trash can, which of course, should be right beside you. Go ahead and seal the bag and dump it. Wash the gloves while your hands are still in them. Throw out the mask. Then take off the clothes you were wearing if you got any of the dust ...(Answered by Serena)
