Q.
How would I cut out and preserve a 6'x6' tile inlay that is embedded in stucco?
This is a significant tile inlay design that I want to salvage as this building is about to be demolished. It would probably require cutting a section of stucco away from the existing structure. From there, I want to install this inlay on the side of a new building in which I'm relocating my business. Anyone have ideas on how to salvage, preserve and move this tile inlay? ... I might be able to help, but I need more info. Your calling this a tile inlay. Inlay is a vinyl product, like the vinyl floors used today. When you say tile, I'm thinking ceramic, or porcelain. Are you referring to a mosaic tile design??? E-mail me, telling what this is. A vinyl product, or actual tile.....creativesurfaces@insightbb.com...(Answered by installafloor)

Plumbers charge from between $50 to $150 an hour with a minimum job of $150. The best way to find out is go to Home Depot or your local library and get a book on it. There are certain codes you have to fallow that are different in each community and also check with your condominium association. What I do usually is get couple of estimates and see if I can do it my self, when I ask the contractors question how they are going to do it I will usually know if it is behind my abilities or not....(Answered by answerguru)

I am relocating a 12x14 patio in order to enlarge a deck. I am curious wether or not I can reuse the CR6 from the old patio or would it be best to leave it, and cover it with soil? Since it will be under the new deck, will I need to be concerned with drainage there. ... (Asked by Beaumeader)

I believe CR6 is crushed stone used as a base. Since it is stone, it can certainly be re-used if you wish. As far as drainage under the deck you are enlarging, you want to be sure water drains away from the foundation of the house....(Answered by AngeloElectro)

Q.
I don't seem to have a manhole inspection cover in my property...?
I'm planning on relocating my bathroom upstairs. Now I won't be doing the work, but I'm curious as I'm told that the new toilet will (obviously) need to be linked into my drainage/soil pipe and I don't seem to have a manhole inspection cover. Both neighbours either side of me do have manholes but where I believe mine should be is the concrete floor of my conservatory (build ~15 years ago by the previous owners). I'm pretty worried/concerned by this - should I be or is it normal for manhole inspection covers to be present at every other house on a ... (Asked by Millie!)

it is nothing to worry about as when the new soil pipe is installed the builder will simply locate your existing drain run and simply cut into it to create a new inspection chamber connecting the new soil stack to the drainage system. whether you hav a manhole in your garden or under your conservatory is irrelevant don't worry about its a standard problem that the builder/plumber will price into the job....(Answered by gavin3214)

Most communities have adopted the International Residential Code (IRC), with tailoring for local conditions. You can buy the IRC from Amazon.com and a number of other online sources. The local building department should also be able to help you. It has been my experience that if you admit your ignorance, the inspector will be more than glad to demonstrate his knowledge of the subject. The footing should always be deeper than the frost line. That is probably why it is 42" in Michigan. Although you may not need as deep a footing in Tennessee, it may ...(Answered by Tech Dude)
