First, try just washing it with any mild detergent. If that doesn't work, try making a paste out of Comet on a cloth and gently scrubbing it off. Don't scrub too hard or it will take the top layer of paint off too. Mr. Clean erasers will probably work....(Answered by Ayliann)

Do you have any recommendations of a product that could fix the problem? I rent the ... (Asked by lilgiggle33)

Put some small containers of baking soda in the drawers. That's what I had to do with an antique armoire that had a musty odor to it. 1. Test the stains by washing with some warm water and mild detergent. Ordinary stains will wash out, but mildew won't. If the stains don't wash out, gently sand them out with 150-grit sandpaper. 2. Put on some rubber gloves and eye protection before you wash walls with bleach, which will kill the mildew spores. After the bleach treatment, wash mildew away with some TSP solution or a phosphate-free substitute, then rinse the area with clear water. Allow the wall to completely dry....(Answered by fluffernut)
