Weird stain on wall?
I recently put up a white board on my wall. The wall is tan and the whiteboard had a white plastic frame. When I took it down, there was a discoloration wherever the frame had touched the wall. I checked my other picture frames (all wood) and none of them had left any sort of mark on the wall. I've tried to get it out (using first windex, then Chlorox wipes) but the stain is not coming off. Try using a paste of baking soda and water to remove the stain. Use GENTLE pressure to clean spot....(Answered by Kim S) |

How do I get rid of mildew/mold growing on paint?
I have just moved into a new place. On the paint above my shower/tub there is a black meldew or mold growing, I am going to repaint the bathroom with a mildew resistant paint, but what do I do to get rid off the stuff before I paint? Bleach or a cleaner of some sort? Thanks

1. Test the stains by washing with some warm water and mild detergent. Ordinary stains will wash out, but mildew won't. If the stains don't wash out, gently sand them out with 150-grit sandpaper.
2. Put on some rubber gloves and eye protection before you wash walls with bleach, which will kill the mildew spores. After the bleach treatment, wash mildew away with some TSP solution or a phosphate-free substitute, then rinse the area with clear water.
