Q.
Do volume measurements in recipes account for the residue left behind in container?
When measuring eggs, honey or other ingredients that when poured, leave residual ingredients behind, do recipes take this into account? So, when I measure similar ingredients I over measure to compensate for this subtle loss. In faster paced cooking, I don't always have time to scrape the pitcher out, so I empty the best I can and resume mixing. This is just one of those things I ask myself in my horribly dull job. ... I've tried baking soda and a small scrub brush and a little water. You can try anything that you would put in food like lemon juice or vinegar. I have had the same problem with residue, and baking soda is still my first choice. It may not get it all off, but it helps....(Answered by Hawkeye4077)

Filter Cleaning/Replacing A filter may be cleaned by being removed and soaked in a degreasing solution until the grease is dissolved, and then washed with warm, soapy water to remove any traces of the degreaser. Also, a filter may be put it in the upper rack of the dishwasher and run it through a normal cycle. If your unit circulates the air rather than vents it, it may have one or more activated charcoal filters. They must be replaces when they lose their effectiveness. Interior Cleaning The unit must be turned off before cleaned. Also avoid spraying cleaner directly onto the light bulb or ...(Answered by isaac_leibnitz)

A.
Often that is the residue left by minerals in the water. Calcium carbonate (lime) and other minerals are present in rocks and soil and naturally leach into natural souces of water and thus are always present to some degree. When water boils, it becomes vapor or steam. The impurities (organic and inorganic dissolved solids) remain as the white residue....(Answered by flaneuring)

Probably the best way is to start over. Spray the pan with Easy Off oven cleaner and stick it into a plastic bag (like a large Ziploc) overnight. The next day, take it out of the bag (warning: this stuff ain't pretty) and clean it all off. You'll completely undo whatever seasoning is done. Then try again with the right oil....(Answered by Claude)

Since it's nonstick, you don't want to use anything abrasive--but, have you put it through your dishwasher yet? Rub degreaser or solvent on the affected area, let sit for awhile and put in the dishwasher. Your other choice is to spray some Easy Off oven cleaner on a paper towel--then rub it on the areas that need to be cleaned, put the pan inside a grocery handle bag and tie closed, leave overnight--and clean in the sink with sudsy water the next day. We even use this method on our grill racks and put them in a ...(Answered by Bromeliad)
