How to repair coffee table/end tables that have had water damage?
I have a 2 yr old set of coffee table/end tables that are cherry. I was out of commission over the last year and family and friends that came to help set drinks on the coffee tables/end tables. It sounds like the finish has fissured and water has gotten underneath. If this is the situation, it will soon flake off. If this is the situation, the only cure is to strip and refinish. If you are talking about white water marks (blushes), and the finish is still sound, then it's salvageable via a number of home remedies or proprietary products....(Answered by Tule Junqui)

Call the local fire dept and see if they are interested in burning it down for training. Would still need to get rid of the metal frame, but a salvage co would take that if all of the wood is gone. Or advertise it as free, and see if they get any takers....(Answered by scout485)

Shipshewana Indiana has a mobile home salvage store on state road 5 it will be on the left side heading into Shipshewanna, also there is one between Pierceton and Warsaw Indiana, it is Salvage Warehouse and there will be a sign on US 30 heading west, it is off of the main highway. Spray that sucker down with a power-degreaser like Simple Green or Greased Lightning, let it soak for about a 1/2 hr, and attack it with a scouring pad. Repeat as needed. My hubby used a stainless soup pot on the barbeque to boil crab legs, and the damned bbq flamed up while he cooked steaks on the other burner. The whole outside of the pot was covered in greasy soot and burned-on proteins. I worked at it, but the Simple Green got it off. a hammer and a wide chisel to remove the mortar joints and then line them up with the face of the bricks showing and pressure wash the clay off. if they are all above grade pressure wash them while still in the wall , it will be easier......(Answered by Bricky Local 9 PA)
