How to shake the dust of carpets without being covered in it.?
How to shake the dust of carpets without being covered in it?
I often have to get rid of the dust on a small carpet (about the size of two or three car carpets, used for shoe covering)
Anyways it really annoys me when the dust goes all over my face. Any personal suggestions or experiences with fixing this?
Thanks

Drape it over a post or a fence, then whack it with a carpet beater (old tennis racket or baseball bat would work, too).
With my smaller carpets, I often beat it against a stone pillar outside my house, and I guess the prevailing winds are right, because it rarely comes back to me.
That size is small enough, you could wash it in the washing machine. I don't understand the reference to shoe covering? Couldn't you use towels or some sort of cloth to cover the shoes instead of a carpet? That's even more washable....(Answered by Madame M) |

is this normal? my new Frigidaire stackable front-loading washer/dryer is shaking violently and moving! help!?
i just moved in to my house, there is a brand new frigidaire stackable front-loading washer/dryer (gallery series) in a closet in the bathroom. (the model # is GLEH1642DS1) I went to use it for the first time and it went fine--until the final spin cycle. The machine started shaking so violently and literally moved three feet and was grinding into the wall of the closet with such force. My whole bathroom was shaking. I was scared. I watched the caulking break off of one of the tiles on the bathroom floor (mind you the bathroom ... (Asked by Gem) |

It's not properly balanced. You have to call someone to fix it. Until then., be careful to place laundry into it evenly. Make sure there isn't a side that has all of the clothes on it. Carefully put the clothes in to make every part of the washer has some clothing... you at least start it out balanced and you will have less chance for this to happen. Usually this problem happens with old products, not new ones, so get someone to check it now you may have a defective unit. Good luck!...(Answered by skipdip) |

I have to sit on my washing machine...?
My washing machine has starting shaking every time it hits the spin cycle. It was on a piece of plywood when we bought the house, but we pulled the wood out because it looked like butt, but now our washing machine shakes so bad. It is tilted back at about a 5 or 10 degree angle because of the angle of the floor (it's in a closed in porch) Does that have something to do with it? It was fine before we moved it, but now I have to literally hold it down when it hits that ... (Asked by Brian I) |

The washer must sit flat and not be able to rock from corner to corner.
It is best to start with the leveling legs turned up as far as possible into the machine and then adjusted out for the machine to sit flat and not rock from corner to corner. The one mistake that most people make is in stopping the rocking they keep turning the wrong leg farther out of the machine instead of turning the other leg into the machine. They keep turning them farther and farther out until the machine becomes top heavy and then no matter how ...(Answered by ApplianceGuy) |
