Q.
How do I keep a stackable washer/dryer from vibrating on a wood floor?
I am installing a 4 year old stackable Kenmore washer and dryer in an old farmhouse for my daughter. The laundry room has old hardwood floors. The regular washer we are replacing often vibrated and moved. Any suggestions on what I can do to make this set solid or what I can put underneath to help. Thanks! ... (Asked by Mema)

Q.
Can you install a stackable washer/dryer against baseboard heat?
We'd like to put a washer/dryer in my mother's summer home. The only spot that makes sense happens to be next to the baseboard heat. Someone said that you can't put it there (he isn't a plumber or contractor so I take it with a grain of salt). Is this true? I've tried researching but can't confirm. The stackable washer is on the bottom, dryer on the top. Thanks! ... (Asked by PT&L)

Q.
Easiest way to move stackable washer/dryer down stairs?
My fiance and I are selling our stackable washer/dryer tonight and we would like to know what the easiest way is to move it. Should we lay it down flat and slide it down the steps little by little (carpeting) - I don't think this is very good idea... OR should we use a dolly. If we use the dolly, what is the best way to do it? ... (Asked by Halloween Bride '09)

A.
Definitely the dolly. Strap or rope the appliance to it securely, then go down wheels first, so the body of the dolly goes first, below the appliance. Take it slow and easy, one step at a time. When we move big heavy stuff with a dolly, we have one person stand below the person with the dolly, so if he loses control, the weight of two adults is there to stop any fall or refrigerators tumbling down stairs. At least I'm good for something, huh? ;-)...(Answered by Maryn Bittner)

This is a what's referred to as a lawyer's or a barrister's book case, they bring about, $150.00 to $175.00 a section retail. To be more accurate one would need to see a picture to know if the glass is beveled, leaded, what kind of hardware the bookcase has etc. They're one of the more popular pieces of antique furniture. These are usually are made of Oak or Mahogany, the Oak will bring more. I'm a licensed auctioneer and antiques appraiser, and have sold a few of these....(Answered by Auctionwally)

Wal-Mart, Lowe's, Home Depot are all good sources for quality stackables. I have found you have to pay a decent price for these if you want to use them long term. Otherwise they don't seal properly and, depending on how you want to use them, you might lose money due to spoilage, etc....(Answered by sunflowerjean63)

Q.
Where to find huge stackable plastic compost makers?
I visited some 'old hippie' friends and they had huge stackable compost makers in their city backyard. You could then get the bottom layer off (must take two people) to get the 'finished' compost, then use it in your garden. The reason I ask is because we have a compost 'bin' which we have used oh, ten years now, and no one has ever gotten any compost out of it (to use) ever as the stuff all over the top is so horrifying. Who wants to bury through it. It always stays about 2 feet deep, no matter that we have ... (Asked by hanging around)

Do you know where I can buy black plastic storage boxes from please?
I'm after ones the sort of size that children use for storing toys in and they must be stackable - and black, of course. I can find every other colour EXCEPT black, of course.
