what is a good color scheme for my bedroom? tropical decor is my thing.?
do i find a nice comforter and then take the colors from there for the walls, or what? i don't mean jungle tropical. just soft seashore and bech house look. don't like the stark white that i see in the magazines. i want to do the walls in a soft color with white trim. but i'm not sure of the color i should go with. aren't there some colors that are more soothing and relaxing that you should put in bedrooms? remember, it's a beachy kind of feel

Sage is in, but in my room & master bath I have a sort of tropical, bamboo thing going. I painted my rooms an olive green color. Sag Harbor by Waverly. Not too dark, very relaxing & it goes great with creams, browns, etc. If that's not your thing, then take a color you like of something in your room, such as the comforter & go with that. It'll make the room look put together. Or go to lowe's.com & use the virtual painter. I found the waverly there, they also have a designer palette called Seaside Retreat with alot ...(Answered by barbara m) |

Consider darker, warm-toned panels - not full drapes, but panels. They don't close off space, but provide splashes of colour. If you paint what walls you can in a harmonious warm tone that should help. Also, consider painting the ceiling to match the walls, it will help the ceiling descend. If you can't replace the flooring and its dark, use a really bright and light floor rug it will ascend towards you, especially if it's warm-toned....(Answered by Kira P) |

i think a hint of white with a white ceiling on that size of room, you could get two colours and paint the opposites the same colour ie stand in middle of the room paint the walls to ur left and right with colour a and the walls in front and behind with colour b wich is within a shade of colour a its an amazing effect its what i have done in my much smaller room if you applied thought this method could be used to make your room look larger or smaller,...(Answered by 0000) |

what is the current going price for granite/marble tile installation (average)?
I have been quoted various prices by installers in my area, but find the difference between them so stark that I cannot bring myself to trust the quotes. I have been quoted from 1.75 to 12.50 per square foot for the installation alone. I have about 3000 plus to get done (flooring and walls) in both granite and marble. Why is there so much difference in the quotes and what is the median price in your area for this service?

I'm in mn and used to install. I think my boss charged about 3.50 for regular tile and around 5 for granite/marble. The cost difference could be any borders or designs your installing. Wall tile is usually more expensive also. Try finding a specialty store in your area that does not install but sells tile equipment or supplies. Ask them who they recommend. That will probably be your best bet for a nonbiased professional opinion....(Answered by Nemo) |
