Try hitting a craft store for some sale catalogs & stuff - there are usually some simple patterns for cross stitch that you can find there for a few bucks on sale racks that will help you with getting an idea on how to get started. Kits are usually the best way to get a feel for doing it - working your stitch the same way each time will give you a better result than switching between colors or rows and you may need to experiment with it with some scrap cloth to get an idea on how much ...(Answered by Catmmo)

A.
If I understand your question... you are knitting and trying to form the "seed" stitch. That stitch is made by knitting on both sides of the material-- the loops from the "knit" stitch is what you see as "seeds". Watch the loops slide off the needles-- I think you are knitting a stitch and not sliding the knitted stitch off the needle. good luck...(Answered by omajust)

Confused about Wrong Side and Right Side Knitting?
I am knitting a scarf, the pattern is at www.cogknition.org/patterns, the achernar scarf pattern. I am confused with the dicrections because it says for the second row, the Wrong side row i have to knit 1 then purl 1 and all of a sudden theres an m, indicating purling from the right side even though i'm knitting on the wrong side row. Do I purl the stich below or just continue to purl from my needle ond continue following the directions? Thanks and hope anyone can clear up this confusion!! ... (Asked by MC)

That is confusing. I think you want the M1 to appear as a purl st on the RS, meaning you need to knit it on the WS. Do the M1 by lifting the loop between the stitches and knitting into the back of that loop and you'll have a M1 that appears as a purl st on the RS of the work. It doesn't seem to be that critical since it's in the set up rows. The increases look like they're there to get to the correct number of sts before the pattern starts....(Answered by bogiebogie)

Q.
In sewing what is a blind stich?
it is part of the finishing of the dress or skirt ... (Asked by ChristianNanny)

A.
A Blind Stitch is used to finish a hem. The stitches are done on the wrong side of the fabric so that only a tiny piece of the right side is stitched. The right side of the fabric doesn't show the stitches. For hand worked hems, look in a library book for instructions or on the Web. You can also use a sewing machine, they usually have an attachement or a built-in feature for Blind Stitching. It's great to use for curtains. Good Luck!!...(Answered by hopetobelucky)
