The only way you are going to get rid of the smell is to find the source of moisture and eliminate it. Do you have a gutter on the outside of your house near the problem? Is it clogged up? Is their a roof problem? You can get a mold test kit in the paint department at Home Depot....(Answered by Michelle G)

Q.
How do I fix a large tear on a vintage poster?
I was given an expensive foreign poster and I placed it on my wall by putting those blue sticky tacks on the back of it. One day as I was lifting my pillow, it tore through the poster. Now there is about an 8 inch rip through the bottom of the poster. I can't really find any shops to fix the poster (I may not be searching for the right search term to find the store [I was looking for a "xerox store"]), but the one place I did find, wanted a fortune for it! After I do fix the ... (Asked by roffevoleur)

Never put tape on the front of a poster even to repair tears. If you do use tape, use acid free tape available from an art supply shop, and place the tape on the back. For expensive movie art take it to a professional to be restored. Posters can be restored the same way rare comic books are professionally restored....(Answered by Barkley Hound)

Using a sewing needle and thread, you could darn it. Make your stitches large enough to get into the good material on either side. You might need a curved needle to do it. I think they are called rug needles. Or you could try an iron on patch, but that might not stick too well. A sew on patch would work though, and might be easier than darning. Thomas is right - they are upholstery needles....(Answered by Gypsy Girl)

if the tear is in a seam then resew it on the seam. it shouldn't be too noticeable at all. Look under the couch and under the cushions for an extra piece that the manufactures almost always leave for just this special occasion. It may be sewn in so it doesn't get lost. Just cut it off and sew it on. good luck...(Answered by mark)

Find out what renters legal rights are in your state. I am not a lawyer so I won't pretend to be, I would hate to give you inaccurate info. I do suggest you talk to a lawyer in your state and find out. I suggest a service that I have had for over 2 years and I love it, I don't get pushed around by landlords or anyone else. I know what my rights are and they will make phone calls or write letters on my behalf if they think it will help. i highly recommend this. It is only ...(Answered by www.jelloshotz.com)

Q.
how do you fix tears in the seams on a leather chair on armrests. Both armrests are torn. Would sewing work?
I have a tear in my 5 year old leather chair, where the seams meet in the middle of the armrests. It looks awful, but not sure how to go about fixing it. I thought about sewing, but not sure if that would be good for the leather. Also thought about superglue, but not sure if that is a good route either. ... (Asked by a2ron)

You can actually sew it with a leather needle, if you are a decent sewer. You can find a leather needle at the fabric stores usually in packs of upholstery and specialty needles. Ask them at the store about the type of thread to use because you will need a heavy duty thread. But if your sewing skills aren't too good, you could also get leather glue at the craft store and carefully glue the seam. I would not use superglue because it simply won't hold for long....(Answered by eskie lover)

I have a leaky tap. The cartridge o-ring keeps tearing.?
The cartridge o-ring keeps tearing because the water supply pipe it butts up against has a nick in it. What I really need to know is if the tube can be replaced. It has a hexagon inside it that makes it appear to be removable with an allen wrench. Any ideas? The alternative is to replace the whole unit and I am not into ripping walls apart. I found what I was looking for. It was the 'seat' that was worn out, I removed it with an allen key and replaced it in seconds. I ... (Asked by Robert L. D)
