What is a good method to cook squid?
It is pre-frozen squid with the body and tentacles. I'm not too into fried foods, would prefer sauteed or something.

****Thai Squid
There's another excellent Thai recipe for squid, less
volcanically hot but excellent now that basil & tomatos
are both good. You have to do this really, really fast --
take it off _before_ you think it's done --- it'll finish
cooking on the way to the table.
1/2 lb squid, cleaned, cut in rings & tentacles
big handful of basil leaves
1 small white onion, cut into curly chunks about 1 inch square
2 scallions, cut into threads
1 or 2 fresh tomatos, cut in eighths
3 fresh chiles, your choice, seeds removed, cut into strips

What appetizers made from scratch do you enjoy most? Wanna share how to make em?
I enjoy Calamari... the fresher the better.
clean the squid inside and out
slice it all up into rings (except for the tentacles -- cut them into segments).
coat with salt, pepper, and lemon juice
dip into a batter of eggs and flour
dip into a dry batter (bread crumbs or seasoned flour)
deep fat fry in canola oil (350) for a couple minutes
drain on paper towels
dip in favorite condiments, and enjoy with a cold beverage (I like San Mig Lite)

my family loves deviled eggs. I usually cook up 2 eggs per guest.
bring water to boil in a large sauce pan, only filled about 3/4 way up the side. put in a cap of vinegar. place eggs into water, I use a pasta spoon for this, and let them boil for 10-12 minutes. then put them in a cold water bath to stop the cooking. don't crack until they are cooled or the shell may stick. slice long ways and pop the yolk into a bowl, place the whites onto a platter. mix in mircle whip or mayo if you ...(Answered by pohter1) |

Is it bad when my potatoes start growing tentacles? Are they still edible?
I'd like to cook my potatoes but after a few weeks they start growing arms and legs. Almost makes me think they're planning an escape from my dark cupboards with all those limbs they're growing. Are they still edible?
They might actually be poisonous? Whoa... well I'll pardon them then...

The potato is fine. If you peel it or cut it open and the inside is visibly bad you obviously shouldn't eat it. The growth won't hurt the inside, but the may have taken some nutrients out of the rest of the potato. If a potato is green on the outside, you should not eat it. Potatoes grow underground in the dark and when they are stored in light, they turn green. The green is the result of a chemical reaction involving light. It is poisonous and the resulting poison is actually a cousin ...(Answered by LemonButt) |
