Cost to add a toilet to an already plumbed room?
I know the cost could vary depending on the requirements of the specific job but I was hoping to get a rough idea. I have a laundry room with a basin sink and I'd like to add a toilet to the mix. Assuming the plumbing is good to go, what range would I be looking at for having a plumber put the toilet in "from the ground up"? Thanks!

Plumbing for a laundry room and plumbing for a toilet are completly different in that a drain for a washer/sink are 1 1/2" to 2" for a toilet you need 3" waste line. You would need to run a main line to the connection in your basement then to a flange in your floor. Figure between 500-800 bucks if all goes well. Plus the toilet....(Answered by JOSEPH D) |

Does this toilet part really exisit?
I am looking for details for the final frontier...aka, my bathroom...
I want a lucite (clear or blue or some kinda cool orange) tank handle. I have searched and have looked at, um, about 92 gajillion handles and not one of them fits the clear or blue or some kinda cool orange description at all! This is weird huh? Also, I have a pretty bad bruise due to the kick I issued myself when I didn't buy the lucite thumb tack toilet seat on ebay. It sounds stupid, but from a totally abstract approach, the piece was ... I think your husband is right- toilet covers are on the out! I haven't seen one in my house or anyone else I know for about ten years.
I've seen suggestions for contact paper instead of toilet paper covers- but I really think you're pushing any kind of lid cover. I think the best to do is leave it bare!
For clever bathroom decorating ideas, I really suggest Southern Living: http://www.southernliving.com/southern/homes/ideas/slideshow/0,14243,473963,00.html

What is a good toilet to buy?
I am remoldling my boy's bathroom so I need a good toilet to replace the one I have now. I need a one flush toilet not one that has to flush 2 times.
The water pressure is fine but our newer 1.6 gal toilets in other rooms don't flush as powerful. I need that for 2 boys

I work in the reno business and I will tell you: we have had SO many problems with American Standard! If you want an American Standard, go with a Cadet.
Otherwise... here are the toilets that I am looking at for my own home:
- Kohler "Cimarron" - 3" flush valve = real flushing power, also, this toilet can be used in commercial applications so you know it has to be good. We use it in 90% of our renovations because it's not expensive as far as good 1.6g flushers go.
- Caroma "Caravelle" - made in Australia, it has a dual flush ...(Answered by tallsweetblondie) |

I don't live in Illinois, but I've had family who owned PINK, YELLOW, AVACADO, CHOCOLATE BROWN, toilets, and I really empathize with you, but suggest you get one that's white or almond, and redo the bathroom to suit.
Certainly with a lot of research you may find some old guy, with a lot of property, who happens to have an ANYTHING YA WANT shop, but is that all worth what a new toilet costs? No offense meant, but color toilets are as transitory as the paper flushed down them.
