ise appliances, has any one had one of there washing machines?
My washing machine is on its last legs, making a terrible noise when it comes to the final spin. An engineer who came out to look at it, is an agent for ise, independent service engineers. A company that started about 1 year ago, selling washing machines, web site iseappliances.co.uk,has anybody tried one of these washing machines and what do they think? They are a bit pricey but give a five year warrenty.

Did the engineer say the bearings are going, Cos thats what it sounds like, I fix washing machines all day every day, some parts on some machines are without doubt better than others. but I have seen Hotpoint machines with bearing problem that are less than 1 year old and I have also seen a 40 year old hotpoint that had a blockage but as never given any other problems. or so I was told. given that you can't reasonably expect a machine to last more than 5 years, if you are going to buy a pricey washing ...(Answered by David D) |

What is the best way to collect and treat "grey" water from the washing machine?
I'm concerned at the amount of water our washing machine uses in a standard cycle and would like to set up a semi-permanent system to collect the waste water to use on the garden, rather than letting it all go down the drain. Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions/experience in dealing with this? I would prefer a system that will cost little or nothing, and I'm a bit over collecting the water from the outlet hose in a watering can!

I live in Sydney (Aus) and only use gray water to water my garden. I bought 2 gray water hoses from Bunnings and joined them together so it reaches all of my garden. I let the water from the washer empty into the stainless steel laundry tub then syphon the water from the tub.
Make sure the laundry tub that you syphon the water from is higher than your garden or it want work. When I first started using gray water, I did what you are doing and that was emptying the water into buckets and watering cans till I got ...(Answered by Aussie Storm) |

my source is "from experience". Never use bleach or you'll kill the plant. Weak detergents like joy (a tad of it only) in a LOT of water can give bugs diarrhea so they leave. Insecticide made specifically for house plants can be sprayed "lightly" on the underside of leaves and on the stalk only when you see bugs on them, and be sure to spray that when your plant is outdoors or you'll asphixiate yourelf. Don't use the insecticide if you have pets or children around as they might play with the leaves or eat them. ...(Answered by sophieb) |
