how often should I water my house plants?
I'm a notorious plant killer, but I still love having them. I just bought a bunch of new house plants. Im not sure what kind they are, but generally, how often should I water them? Ive been watering them every wednesday. Should I water them if the dirt is still slightly damp, or should I be waiting til the dirt is completely dry before I add more water?

actually it depends on the plant, some plants need to stay moist all the time, some need to dry out before watering. the plant should have come with some directions, if not, look them up in the internet and see what kind of care the plant needs...water, light, plant food, etc. some plants even need a light misting or their leaves cleaned with mild soap and water....(Answered by ´¯0())))»·.¸¸.·´´¯`··._.·) |

Why does my shower water turn cold when a toilet is flushed?
I can be taking a nice, relaxing shower and -BAM!- someone flushes a toilet in another bathroom and the hot water vanishishes. It stays cold until the toilet tank is refilled (about a minute or two). Why does the toilet need my hot water? It's a cold water device!
I've been in other showers at other's houses, and the water becomes scolding when a toilet is flush. THAT, to me makes more sense, because the toilet is drawing away cold water for itself, leaving nothing but hot. But that's not the case in my house. ... (Asked by Shiomi Ryuu) |

ONE OF TWO REASONS.
INSIDE YOUR SHOWER ARE TWO SAFETY DEVICES 1 A LOW PRESSURE DEVICE THAT DETECTS WATER PRESSURE SO THAT THE HEATER CANNOT BE ON WITH NO WATER INSIDE THE TANK
2 AN ANTI SCALDING DEVICE SWITCHES OFF THE HEATER IF THE TEMPERATURE GOES TOO HIGH - STOPPING YOU GETTING SCALDED
WHEN THE TOILET IS FLUSHED, THE CISTERN IS LOWER THAN YOUR SHOWER SO THE WATER FINDS IT EASIER TO COME OUT OF THE LOWER OUTLET, REDUCING THE WATER PRESSURE SIGNIFICANTLY
[DEVICE1 CUTS IN?]
AS WATER FLOWS INTO YOUR TOILET CISTERN, THERE IS LESS WATER TO GO THROUGH YOUR SHOWER SLOWING THE FLOW ...(Answered by andy t) |

That will depend on whether your system has a filter system. If it does not have one you can add one and this should improve your flavor.
There are many systems out and available. Depending on your system and the type of filter used and where it is installed it may not change the rubber taste your gaining. You should consult your provider of the appliance or consult a local appliance store for information. Or consult the maker of your Refrigerator for ideas also....(Answered by Jerry) |

If you're talking about outdoor plants only, always water the whole plant. Plants are designed to direct water to where they need it i.e. trees usually have roots that branch out so water falls off the leaves in a wide pattern and most plants with a taproot have leaves and stems that direct the water toward the base of the plant.
Watering plants is artificial. Since plants are designed to receive water in the form of rain, watering should be done as artificial rain...a mist works well but takes longer. I prefer to use just a little stronger spray but not ...(Answered by Dakota) |

How much should I water my flowers?
I know when it's hotter out you need to water your plants and flowers more often, and I've heard that you shouldn't water your flowers everyday, unless it's hot out. But, my question is, how much water should I give my flowers. I have a variety of flowers in pots. I've heard you should water them until it starts to drip out from the bottom, is that true? Can you over water flowers?

Yes, you can over water your flowers and they will die. The leaves will start turning yellow and then they will just die. I always feel the soil and if it is dry, then, I water them. Don't soak them, just give them a good drink. And, never water them in the heat of the day. Always water them very early morning, or late evening....(Answered by me) |
