Cleaning no-wax vinyl?
About 6 months ago I updated my kitchen and replaced my previous no-wax vinyl floor with the same brand but a different color. The first was a white and this is a little darker. The current floor has a texture while the first was smooth. This floor has a dirt or some kind of build up in the pattern which never happened with the other though I mop every week and spot clean as needed. I use very little or no wax for no-wax floors and it makes no difference.
I would like to know how to keep a no-wax floor ... (Asked by braveheart) |

Bummer - there's nothing worse than cleaning floors! Well perhaps removing wallpaper is a close second! But in all seriousness, it's perfectly normal for textured flooring to collect grime or dirt in those crevices. Unfortunately, being that the floor is a no-wax, you can't use Future which is great for putting a nice acrylic coat on your flooring. Future prevents just want you're experiencing but on linoleum only. I don't believe the only option is to put elbow grease into it though. One of the answers suggested Clorox with Teflon. I will say that the new Teflon cleaners work great. ...(Answered by SBean_29) |

There are wax removers on the market, you can try one of them, but the best thing is ammonia water if you can stand the smell, but ammonia will cut the wax, it will be a get down on your knees job, using a damp sponge and rinse well and wipe up. Try a small section of the floor first in an area that isn't noticable to see if it is going to work for you. Everyone I know that has a laminate floor wants the shine, but you only get that with real hardwood, seems they would make ...(Answered by judy_derr38565) |

You would have to use a stripping solution. Make sure you have your gloves on using this and make sure you don't get it anywhere other than where you want it. It would make a big mess. You would put the solution in a spray bottle and usually dilute it 10:1. Spray it onto the floorboards, let it sit until it lifts and then mop off with clean warm water. Then you would have to rewash it with clean water, and then do what you would like with it OR hire someone else to deal ...(Answered by kashallgonna) |

Wax STAIN out of dress pants?
I followed some suggestions to take a small spot of wax out of my dress pants by placing a piece of paper over the was and ironing it-- the wax did stick to the paper....
However, now there is a spot where the wax was, about twice the size of the original spot! Is there any way to get that out too? The pants are light grey, and the spot is pretty noticeable...

Honey,
That is likely oil leftover from the candle.
This is what you do:
Get some good dishwashing liquid, such as DAWN, designed to "cut grease". Oil is basically grease.
Put a good amount on the spot and let it sit a bit then wash in hot water and you should be fine.
This also works very well on oil based makeup stains. We studied stains in a clothing lab in college.
