how do u wash your clothes whiter?
I used tidew/bleach and bluing. They don;t make it whiter. Help?

Use baking soda in the laundry for brighter, whiter, softer, cleaner results
Doing laundry can be a pleasure when your clothes come out the way you want them to - clean, sweet smelling and fresh. Baking soda does the trick.
Put about a quarter cup in the laundry. It helps soften and boosts cleaning power.
It's excellent for cleaning shower curtains - in or out of the washing machine.

Clorox ruined white soles?
I put some clorox on the white soles of my shoes because some dye had rubbed off on them from my new jeans and I thought clorox turned whites whiter not brown! It's a light brown color where I put the clorox. I tried alcohol but that didn't work? Any solutions because these shoes are expensive.

Try white leather dye available at Tandy Leather. Fiebings Dye 4 oz White 2100-18. Edge and heel dressing available on the internet seem only to come in the black or brown colors. You could try a local shoe repair.

How to get cute socks with designs really white without messing up the design ?
I know this is a wierd question. I have tons of socks that the main color is white but then they have designs like strawberries on them or cats, dogs, ladybugs etc... How can I get the white part of the socks really white when I wash them without messing up the cute designs ? I use Tide with Bleach Alternative and it does a pretty good job but I want them to be whiter (bleach white). Would adding Clorox 2 help ? Thanks for reading

Soak them in Oxiclean, or Rits makes something for getting white whiter, it`s in a small box like their Dye is in. You can get both of them at Wal-Mart.
I did see on TV last night that Clorox has come out with a new bleach, its a liquid and comes in a container like liquid laundry detergent, but I have not used it, not sure if it would work like regular chlorine bleach and ruin your socks, Something to think about if you are in the cleaning Isle at Wal-Mart.

brighter whiter clothing?
Hi, i would like some tips on how to make my white clothing whiter. The winter season is almost coming to an end and I have been doing some early spring cleaning and i noticed that many of the white clothes which i never wore during winter has all turned a nicotine yellow colour. How does that happen? anyhoos, what can i do to make them look "fresher" and "brighter" cos washing doesnt seem to do much.thanx

I find a scoop of Astonish stain remover in every white wash banishes yellowing and gives a bright, zingy whiteness. It's much cheaper also, than the Vanish version of the same thing and I think it works better!...(Answered by bumbleboi) |

whites whiter?
Hi, I have a front loadign washing machine adn want to bleach my whites, how do i do it? Do i soak them first and then put them into the machine or do I put it in the powder drawer? Also, how much do I put in? And one more thing, if you have a white bra or top with black trimming, i take it that cant be bleached? Thanks in advanc! the not so domesticated girl!

Bleach works great but destroys clothes. I use Oxy clean as a pre soak. I skip putting it in the tray and put it right in there with the clothes. Then I have the washer delay for 10. Mine has presets, I'm sure yours does too. Then when it kicks back on I put the liquid in the detergent tray. So far I have been getting great results. For bras I just hand wash those with Woolite. You don't want those under wires to come loose.
