Q.
Do you think Hydroponic vegetables are safe?
I bought a tomato from the supermarket and it was surprisingly yummy. The label said it came from a farm called "Eurofresh" and found on their page that it's grown hydroponically. Although it's not organic they don't use pesticides because everything is grown in a giant greenhouse. Do you think hydroponically grown produce is safe? As I understand it they use chemical solutions in water to feed the plants instead of the plants getting their nutrients from the soil. It seems like an unnatural way to grow food... ... Yes, they're safe. Plants can't live on water alone. Like us, they need nutrients. The chemicals they use are chemical forms of the same nutrients plants normally find in the ground. An advantage to this method is that the ground doesn't leach away some of those nutrients caused by water drainage. The environment can be more precisely controlled and insects (as you mention) are not a problem. :)...(Answered by tercir2006)

Can I just take the pit out of the peach and plant it?
I have the most beautiful little pocket peach tree in my front yard. It yields such yummy juicy little peaches. I want to make a little tree for my grandma. A.
Yes. You should probably let it dry out, wash it off. Otherwise it may mold. But its an easy tree to grow. Just normal plant care. However, you may not get the same peaches off it. If you really want the same tree you need to root a cutting. Wait for the end of summer and cut a thin branch off and dip it in some rooting compound (not really needed) and keep it moist in the light soil, like in peat moss. There are lots of pages on the web about ...(Answered by bahbdorje)

You can get scented air filter things for your air filter (that big paper thing you are supposed to change every 3 months) that will scent your air. I always get the cinnamon one, but they come in a bunch of different scents like flower, ocean breeze, tropical, etc... You can get them at Target or the Home Depot next to where they sell the air filters. About $3.50....(Answered by Crapface)

How can I protect my backyard fruit from animals who eat them?
I have a nectarine tree in my backyard that bears fruit every summer. They're delicious once they're ripe but I wasn't able to try them this summer because all the squirrels, birds, and insects ate them. I tried to protect the fruit by wrapping them in little packages of newspaper but that didn't work. The animals still got away with it. I could purchase repellants, but I'm afraid of consuming the subtance that they contain. How can I enjoy those yummy nectarines in my backyard without the annoying animals in my way? The animals gather them as early as the fruit ... (Asked by Susie said so.)
